Living in Berlin x interview 009

Bibi comes from Tainan, Taiwan, we were in the same senior high school, she studies mathematics in Freie University now. She lives in Moabit, her neighbor ist EDEKA(my favorite supermarket), it's just so convenient! Our interview started from the delicious brunch which she prepared (since her sister just arrived for a couple days, so we started the wonderful morning together!)

She has many things that she found from flea market, a LP player, a typewriter, but I think, her sister is the one who is really good about this part, when I saw what she bought from Mauerpark, I said: I WANT TO GO WITH YOU!!!!

Though she just arrived Berlin for a couple months, but I saw Life, the paintings and post cards on the wall, the books and small stuffs in the shelves and the kitchen full of all sorts of ingredients, sause, and so on, she buy all the furniture from ikea, her tip: do check the internet for what you need before you go, or you will spend money undoubtedly over your budget, and she fix and finish them all by her own, I think, it's life to build your own place when you achieve the balance, what you can and what you want.

DO YOU LIKE BERLIN?

I don't know yet, I'm still trying to fit in. I've lived in Munich for 2 years, I am used to the life there, for me, Berlin is a big city, I finally understand why someone says that Munich is a town, not a city. But the atmosphere here is open, young and interesting, but the same time, indifferent.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BERLIN AND MUNICH?

I love the warm feeling from Munich, when I took the ubahn in Munich, it's easy to speak with others while sitting in the underground, people talked to you when you do something different, but not in Berlin, people have no reaction whatever you do.  And the rental payment is much cheaper than in Munich, the same price, I can only rent an apartment which only 1/3 big from what I have now, and this city is really friendly to students, in all ways. But, I still love the food from south of Germany, haha.

IS THERE ANY PLACE THAT YOU GO OFTEN SINCE YOU LIVE IN BERLIN?

Stadtmitte, I will go to Konzerthaus to listen to the classic music, the streets and architecture looks alike my imagination of Europe, or Munich (laugh).  Nothing special, or just stay near my university!

Bibi is a open and interesting person and a super chef! After the day we made the interview, we met again to have a dinner(I can even order what I want to eat!) There are also 2 friends of her, it's so wonderful to meet new people, chat the whole time and eat the Taiwanese food!

What interesting is, one of Bibi's friend only met Bibi two times, then she came to dinner, when I was still wandering who is braver, I suddenly remember, we know each other only via facebook, she said that she studies the same senior high as I did, and asked if you can live in my apartment for a few days? And I just said yes, maybe I'm the one who is really brave (bold?), haha.

Thank you, Bibi!
